Proudly South African!
I am the tenth generation of the Greeff family in
Africa. Mattias Greeff came from Germany sometime during in the
1600's. Our family has been living in Namaqualand since the end of the
Anglo-Boer War - 1902. My wife is Estelle - born from German
speaking South Africans. We now have 5 children, 2 sons-in-law, 1
daughter-in-law and 2 grandsons.

We are here to stay and feel we need to face the
difficulties of Africa. We are building a future- not only for
ourselves and our children but for the whole society in general. You
want to meet white Africans? Come and join us!

About us
Afrika Safaris was started during 1996 by Koos Greeff. Together
with his wife, Estelle they form the nucleus of this safari
operation. Koos was the very first registered safari operator
operating in the West Coast, Namaqualand and the Southern Namib
Desert. (Try and spot Estelle on the photo above!)
Koos works on a part-time base as a Social
Developer, as a Tour-guide and is Self-employed. Has travelled
Southern Africa extensively over the past 30 years and is involved
in many development projects all over. He completed his Master
degree at the University of South Africa in certain aspects of the
Zulu Culture. He can converse
in Afrikaans, Dutch, English, German, Ndebele, Swazi, Zulu and Xhosa.
Is registered as a "Specialist Tour Guide" because of
his wide knowledge of African cultures and history. Previously he was involved with Military Intelligence doing
social development work all over Southern Africa. This gave him a
deep insight in the cultural diversity of Southern Africa as well as
introducing him to a wide range of contacts and friends all over.
Estelle is the mother of their 5 children and is a qualified
language teacher - for German as foreign language. She is an
outstanding safari chef - just ask the TV crews! The 5 children,
daughter-in-law and
son-in-law are all highly qualified persons holding other jobs. As
is necessary, they are called by the old man to come and assist. If
you join us on safari, you are sure to meet some of our children.
(Oh yes - the family is getting bigger with another son-in-law and
grandson added recently)
